How I Work
-
Impact at Scale
I design platforms and programs that don’t just launch — they last. My work focuses on building systems that reach large, diverse audiences while creating the trust and structures needed for long-term adoption.
Examples: WeTeachNYC (70K+ educators, 4K resources, 60 blended learning communities); American Dream Academy ($17M program, 200K learners on Coursera).
-
Translation + Sensemaking
I make complex ideas usable. Whether it’s evolving AI policy or shifting district strategy, I translate between policymakers, technologists, and educators so change feels practical, human, and possible.
Examples: Led EndDeepfakes.org, creating guidance for schools to confront Deepfakes; produced tools to support responsible adoption of AI, convened cross-sector leaders to create AI procurement benchmarks, strategic investment principles, and a national survey of school social workers on GenAI.
-
Design is a Dialogue
Good design means building with people, not for them. I use dashboards, feedback loops, contextual inquiry, and advisory boards to ground decisions in evidence — while stress-testing systems through risk mapping, governance modeling, and load testing.
Examples: Built dashboards for tracking engagement and outcomes; designed educator feedback loops via surveys, advisory groups, and resource review cycles.
-
Making Knowledge Explicit
Knowledge only matters if people can access it. I design taxonomies, resource libraries, and communities that make knowledge easy to find, easy to share, and part of daily practice — not lost in a binder or database.
Examples: Developed metadata strategies and recommendation engines; facilitated group processes for a national school-based mental health community of practice.
-
Trust as Infrastructure
Systems don’t succeed because of features alone — they succeed because people trust them. I design workflows, governance models, and feedback loops that earn trust, reflect lived experiences, and make platforms feel alive.
Examples: Built governance models that shifted NYCPS from vendor-dependence to in-house capacity; completed WCAG 2.0 accessibility audit on 4,000+ resources; created feedback channels to keep educator voices central.
-
Leadership in Change
I build and lead interdisciplinary teams — design, engineering, analytics, strategy, educator engagement — and create the conditions for them to thrive. My focus is on sustainability: designing for what happens after launch.
Examples: Scaled operational systems for multi-million-dollar initiatives; managed $5M vendor contracts; co-led national school-based mental health communities of practice.
